Firefox has been the browser of choice for quite a lot of regular internet users. In fact, it has been the only browser in a decade or so to be able to successfully challenge the might of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Its gradually eating away the market share of the world’s most popular web browser since its inception. According to a recently concluded study, as of December 2007, the market share of Firefox in Europe is close to 28%, which is quite substantial.

On 30th of January 2007, Microsoft finally released the much awaited version of their seemingly next-gen operating system titled “Windows Vista“. Originally codenamed as “Longhorn”, this edition of the Microsoft OS went through many ups and downs and believe it or not, it was in production house for more than 5 years. I found this lovely little program called WinSnap. It is a small utility for Windows PCs that lets you take and edit screenshots with ease. Needless to say, its way better than the standard Windows Print Screen. You can change colour settings, apply shadows, contour and watermark to all your captured screens. It also lets you rotate and scale the images. You can take various types of screenshots with it including full screen, windows, client area, application, popup menus and regions. The only thing thats missing is the ability to capture scrolling web pages. If you desperately need that functionality, you’ll need to get SnagIt which is without a doubt the best screenshot utility available currently. However, be ready to shell out $39.95 if you decide to go for it. If you can live with a few missing features, WinSnap is a recommended download. What’s more its completely FREE for personal, educational and non-commercial use!
