Honda finally revealed their “radical” new livery for Formula 1 Championship Season 2007. After months of testing with an all black livery, the greenish looking livery was really a spectacle. The livery consists of a painted image of our earth with no advertising or sponsorship logos. This could be due to Honda’s failure to attract any major sponsor for the season but according to Honda, they wanted to send out a message.

Their new initiative is to help raise awareness of the various environmental issues facing the planet earth. Many large names have already joined this initiative in helping Honda’s cause. They have also launched a new website called My Earth Dream via which they plan to raise funds with the help of common people. Anyone who wishes to have their name on that Honda livery will be able to do so just by donating to an environmental charity.

The performance of Honda’s new RA107 is encouraging but yet its not up to the standards set by teams such as Ferrari and McLaren. Though the motive behind this all green campaign is great but it will be the car’s performance during the races that will decide the scale of Honda’s popularity. This year already seems to be doing fine in terms of looks and classy liveries with many teams going for complete overhauls. Come March 18th and we are in for a F1 visual delight.
