Ferrari unveiled its 2009 Formula 1 racer, the Ferrari F60 last Monday. The numbering scheme of this new car marks the 60th year of celebration for Ferrari as a Formula 1 team. In fact, they are the only team in F1 history to have taken part in every racing season thus far. The new car was taken for a shakedown by Felipe Massa shortly after its unveiling. Massa was extremely happy with the performance and handling of the car and termed it as “cute”.

There are significant aerodynamic changes made to this car compared to last year. A senior Ferrari spokesperson confirmed that the car was designed from ground up and had nothing in common to its predecessor. They’re not sure what to expect from this year’s racer and keeping their feet firmly grounded as of now. The rear wings have been made narrower and taller while the front wing now covers the slick tyres completely. The lack of winglets are easily noticeable. The car also featured a KERS system developed in cooperation with Magneti Marelli.
